Amnesty: The Human Rights Concerts Human Rights Now!
Human Rights Now! was a worldwide tour of twenty benefit concerts on behalf of Amnesty International that took place over six weeks in 1988. This 60-minute special is from the final concert from River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and features the standout performances from Peter Gabriel, Sting, and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. The concerts were huge, held not to raise funds but to increase awareness of both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on its 40th anniversary and the work of Amnesty International.
Highlights include Peter Gabriel performing "Biko," Sting with "Don't Stand So Close To Me," and Bruce Springsteen's explosive "Born In The USA," plus a very special collaboration of Springsteen & Sting for the classic "Every Breath You Take."
This concert is one of a trio of Human Rights concerts including A Conspiracy Of Hope and The Struggle Continues.
